Announcement: New blog
It’s official. After much thinking-over, I’ve decided to utilize the WordPress blogging platform. I will no longer be posting anything new here, except for notifications of my latest blog posts in my WordPress account.
Moving house
I’m seriously contemplating moving my blog to wordpress. Tumblr severely restricts my blog customization/apps. Of course, this thought might not work out because I’ll have to mass-move this blog postings to the new blog and it’s going to be pretty tedious. There are some tools online that will help me export these posts though, but I’ll have to figure them out.
Press release
PRESS RELEASE
Release September 30, 2010
Dear family and friends,
I just wanted to tell you that I am interning at Radical Inc. and my articles are being published in that site as part of my internship program.
My internship involves writing articles on topics that were assigned to me or that I chose. I am also assigned a special project that I have to work on throughout my internship. Radical Inc. owns a blog called RadicalParenting.com. It is a parenting blog written by teens for parents and adults.
So far, I have already written one article that was published, “4 Ideas on Gifts for Teens”. I am hoping that in the future, I will be able to write an article on my homeschooling experience.
The reason I joined this internship program is because of the many benefits. RadicalParenting.com is read by thousands of readers, including publishers and journalists. It has been featured on CNN, the Wall Street Journal, Fox and CBS. Just think of how this internship will look like on my college application and resume! Furthermore, I am given guidance on my writing and taught many important tips aspiring writers need to know.
Radical Inc. was founded by Vanessa Van Petten. You can follow her on Twitter @vvanpetten or subscribe to the RadicalParenting.com newsletter at here.
With much love,
Evangeline Han, Intern

To the teens of this world
You have been created for such a time as this
So…
fly to the moon
shoot for the stars
rise with the morning sun
ripping apart the dark
awaking the dreams in your heart

Yeah!
I finished my article for my Radical Parenting internship yesterday and submitted it. I can’t say anything about it but will definitely post it here once it’s up.
If you love writing, I would highly recommend that you apply for the internship. There is plenty of hard work and you will have to clock in a certain number of hours every week, but it also very fun. I promise you that you will definitely enjoy it. The trick is to keep going and not think about all the weeks of work you have to put in.
Sorry to disappoint, but no, that is not snow. It is actually foam from carbon dioxide that firemen sprayed on the Penang Bridge to prevent the fire from under the bridge from spreading up. The fire was caused by three power cables under the bridge.
100th post-Am I to write on something significant?
Homeschooling Teen Magazine
My first article for Homeschooling Teen Magazine was published in its September issue. Writing it was pretty easy once I got a hang of it. The only concern I had was grammar. Grammar, grammar, grammar. After editing it numerous times, I finally sent it in and, was glad to note that except for the last two words, the other parts seemed ‘intact’. What is my article about? What else but current events. I have my column and will be regularly writing my perspective on certain current events.
Homeschooling Teen Magazine is a monthly magazine written for teens by teens. At first glance, it might look boring, but hang on. There are actually some very interesting articles to be found there. Not only that, best of all, it’s FREE. While some might not appreciate the value of free things, you’ve got to believe me that this has got some value in it. To subscribe, go to here and fill in your email address. For the kids, there is sister magazine Homeschooling Kids Magazine. However, unlike the teens magazine, HKM is only free for the first year.
Radical Parenting Teen Writer Internship
Much to my delight, my application for the RP teen writer internship was approved. After filling out the application, interview, bio questionnaire, and privacy forms, I’ve been told that everything is good and I should be able to start next week. Needless to say, I’m very excited about it. Will write more when I’ve started it real and proper.
In Huntsville, Alabama, Antoine Dodson heard a muffled scream coming from younger sister Kelly Dodson’s bedroom and burst in to find a man lying on top and choking her. He fought off the intruder and the next day, the police and media were called. A local TV reporter asked the enraged Antoine if he had anything to say. He did. The interview was posted in YouTube. The clip had a million hits within a day.
In New York, brothers and musicians, Evan and Michael Gregory saw the video and liked it. They made it the next project as part of their “Auto-Tune the News” series, a program that digitally converted the voices of newscasters into music. The end result? A video that is a current hit sensation in YouTube.
Lyrics:
Well obviously we have a rapist here in Lincoln Park…
He’s climbin in your windows
He’s snatchin your people up
Tryna rape em so y’all need to
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
and hide your husband
Cuz they’re rapin errbody out here
You don’t have to come and confess
We’re lookin for you
We gon find you
We gon find you
So you can run and tell that,
Run and tell that
Run and tell that, homeboy
Home, home, homeboy
We got your t-shirt
You done left fingerprints and all
You are so dumb
Rou are really dumb–for real
The man got away leaving behind evidence
I was attacked by some idiot in the projects
So dumb, So dumb, So dumb, So
He’s climbin in your windows
He’s snatchin your people up
Tryna rape em so y’all need to
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
Hide your kids, Hide your wife
and hide your husband
Cuz they’re rapin errbody out here
You don’t have to come and confess
We’re lookin for you
We gon find you
We gon find you
So you can run and tell that,
Run and tell that
Run and tell that, homeboy
Home, home, homeboy
